Albertengo started an agricultural project to produce IGP Piedmont hazelnuts from the Langhe in Alta Langa.
Since 2012, work has begun to put the land together and the area that is now Tenuta San Giorgio Pian delle Violette in Levice has been settled: 14 hectares all planted with hazelnuts. There are 7,000 plants.
The first harvest took place in August 2019. To produce the icing and decorate the Albertengo Panettone with whole hazelnuts, only hazelnuts from the Alta Langa region produced on the family farm are used.
The grinding of the icing is still done by stone processing.
